Wihana Kirana Jaya (Yogyakarta, 15 December 1958) is a Professor of Economics at Gadjah Mada University, Indonesia. Served as Senior Advisor to the Indonesian Minister of Transportation on Economics Affairs and Transportation Investment in 2016. Prior to becoming Senior Advisor, he was Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business UGM from 2013 to 2016, Commissioner of PT Pelindo IV (2017-2020), Independent Commissioner of AXA Mandiri (2015-2020), Deputy Dean Field of Cooperation and Business Development, FEB UGM 2009-2012; and Director of the UGM Center for Economic Studies and Public Policy 2005-2008. Wihana received a Doctorate from Monash University, while a Master of Social Science from the University of Birmingham.
Wihana has various professional experiences as a consultant in various international countries such as the Asean Development Bank (ADB), World Bank, Decentralization Support Facilities (DSF), GTZ, AusAid and JICA. His main interests are Public Policy, Public Finance, Development Studies, Tax Economics, New Institutional Economics, Industrial Economics, and Natural Resource Economics.
