Dr. techn. Renate Bornberg was Born in Vienna/ Austria, she studied architecture at the TU Vienna, where she received her diploma and her PhD. After working as an architect, she was a lecturer at the University of Liverpool, U.K and Leibniz University of Hanover, Germany. Currently she is a lecturer at the Institute for History of Art, Building Archaeology and Restoration, TU Vienna.
Her research focuses on comparative settlement structures in both, primitive and so called high cultures, including European and Non-European cities, towns, villages and compounds. Of particular interest are the social implications that are embedded in the built environment.
