Human civilization and water bodies have a mutual relationship between them from time immemorial, in the form of river, sea or ocean. In case of Kathmandu, these waterfront/riverfront spaces have been playing significant roles for hundreds of years in terms of socio-cultural activities of the inhabitants living here but unfortunately they are in neglected condition. We have not yet found a common answer on how to mitigate the problems regarding the riverfront areas.
So let’s hear from notable Dr. Laretna T. Adishakti (Indonesia), a conservationist and the riverfront expert who has in-hand experience regarding the management of the riverfront issues in her country. Let’s get inspired!
